Jamaica’s culture can be described as an extensive fusion of several traits from different countries. Our motto ‘Out of many, one people’ is the perfect indication that many countries and cultures have come together to form a unique culture. The interest of the Jamaican culture and historical data is growing in many different countries, inclusive of Jamaica. Therefore, organizations such as ‘Jamaica National Heritage Trust’ have to inspire a sense of national pride through preservation and development of our cultural heritage and heritage sites. According to the Oxford Dictionaries a heritage site can be defined as a natural or manmade site, area, or structure recognized as being of outstanding importance and therefore deserves special protection.
The twenty first century improvement of technology has magnified the media industry. This is evident when we take a flashback of what the media industry was like from conception. On a global scale we can see varying development and major improvements on the technology scene and this we observe with the improvements of mobile phones, the internet, and other multimedia technologies. In order to get a vivid picture of how technology has magnified the media industry, let’s first gather a bit of knowledge about what mass media is.
